“Wilton Brands’ goal for the interior design of their new office was to celebrate their motto ‘Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday.’ The space exemplifies kitchen warmth with a bakery feel.”
– Janice Fellows, Design Director
Wilton Brands inhabited their previous four-building campus for over 35 years; their workspace had grown organically without much tactical planning, so the client made the decision to relocate.
TMA took a strategic approach to the design concept by examining their previous campus holistically to make recommendations for their future environment. The mantra of the project became “Everyone, Everywhere, Everyday,” which was celebrated and integrated into the new office environment.
Some of the key new features include a client showroom directly off the reception area at the base of the internal staircase.
The open-plan workspaces contain new furniture and connecting details, such as the exposed ceiling color treatment that incidentally serves as a wayfinding tool.
As Wilton calls for their customers to be creative, the new workspace needed to exemplify the creativity of the brand. Custom millwork screens made of wooden rolling pins and spoons delineate the boundary of the common café.
Rather than detracting from the views, this approach allows natural light to filter through the space and pays tribute to Wilton’s cake decorating beginnings.
Directly behind reception, the large-scale boardroom invites in a lot of natural light and provides access to beautiful views. A variety of meeting rooms with integrated audio-visual technology are also available to Wilton staff.
Six fully functioning kitchen stations with numerous equipment sources allow Wilton to test their products before going to market. No two kitchen vignettes are alike in how they are designed, so that the products can be photographed with different visual backgrounds.
The cake decorating studio houses a model making station, climate-controlled cake storage room, two cooking stations, and eight decorating stations.
To boost Wilton’s growing presence on social media, TMA also designed a studio for photography and videography.
