Manufacturer Options Review
Recommend a slate of vetted and proven manufacturers that are appropriate for both the budget and aesthetic of the project
Arrange showroom tours tailored to focus on products relevant to the project
Develop evaluation criteria that address specific project goals and requirements
Specifications
Research product specifications to verify options (library/on-line)
Document specification details via InDesign, Excel, Sketch Up or other documentation format
Coordinate specifications with coded furniture plan and with power/data/AV details as indicated in the TE plan
Proposal Review
Review dealer submitted proposals for accuracy of specifications – quantity, dimensions, finishes, characteristics, tagging, etc.
Review dealer/manufacturer submitted drawing sets for accuracy, cross referencing to the associated written proposals.
As needed, track cost changes associated with any change in specs or quantity
Shop Drawing / Sample Review
Assist design team in shop drawing (furniture only) review and comment process – focusing on coordination with the proposals, code/practicality issues, timely return of comments.
Facilitate the timely review and documentation of submitted finish samples
Project Schedule Maintenance
Establish furniture milestone schedule in coordination with the overall project schedule
Monitor progress against schedule – issuing updates/reminders as needed
Communicate schedule milestones to all team members – client/consultants/vendors
Project Budget Oversight
Establish preliminary furniture budget on a square footage basis in reference to a targeted design level
Create preliminary line-item budget based upon preliminary furniture plans as well as preliminary furniture selections for design development
Produce bid to budget comparisons as needed
Value Engineering
Identify potential methods for cost savings with minimal impact to function or aesthetic.
